Each bucket has a slit cut down the side to help getting the alginate mold out once the LiquiStone has set. Tape up the slit for making the mold, untape it and voila, the alginate pops out.
We use this clay to reinforce long fingernails in hand casts. If you triple the thickness of the fingernails with clay the fingernails on the casting will be thicker and less likely to break.
So it didn't quite work out the first time. Ran out of time? Didn't mix properly? Your model panicked and ruined mold? Don't worry, you can buy a small bag of the alginate so you can try again.
