Accu-Cast 880 - - - - - - - - (Blue)

This is our second longest setting formula (only our Genesis X alginate is slower).

880 is highly recommended for big projects like torsos. Beginners also like it for head casting and pregnant belly casting because they get a little extra time.

• We have eliminated 90% of the "SLUMP" of this alginate. Now when you apply 880, it STAYS WHERE YOU PUT IT.
• Easy to mix, Easy to Apply but doesn't run like everybody else's alginate.
• Saves you money because you're not losing most of your alginate onto the model's lap.
• Saves you time, because you're not spending time trying to "catch" the alginate as it drips off the face.
• It minimizes thin and thick spots so common in layup molds.
• We recommend just 4 ounces of alginate mixed with 14 ounces of water for a face cast. Most of our competitors recommend a full pound.

Although 880 can be used for just about any type of project, it sets too slowly for hand casting, except for very large multi-hand projects. Can also be used for faces, heads and torsos. 880 sets in 8 minutes when you use 80°F water. As always, warmer water will accellerate the set and cooler water will slow the set. It sets firm and hard, even when mixed thin.

For face, head and torso casting, we recommend a 3.75:1 (by weight) mixing ratio. Coincidentally this turns out to be almost exactly a 1:1 ratio by volume. If you want to weigh it out (the best method), use a little less than 2 quarts of water (60 fl. oz.) for each pound of 880. Can be mixed thicker or thinner as the need arises.
