35cc Catheter-Tip SyringeSyringeUsing the Syringe

Used in LifeCasting for applying alginate into "hard to reach" places.

In Face Casting it is used to squirt alginate in between the open lips up against the closed teeth. This yields a very interesting casting with a Three Dimensionality that is impossible to get with a "closed lip" pose.

In Head Casting it is used to squirt alginate into the complex shapes of the ear. We've found that castings of the ear are much improved by the use of the syringe.

A Catheter-Tip Syringe has no needle. It has a small round opening big enough to make expressing alginate quite easy.

All you need is some type of flat spatula to push the alginate into the syringe tube after you've removed the plunger. Replace the plunger and go for it.

The syringe is easy to clean and should be able to be used at least a dozen times. Relubricate the black rubber plunger with ArmorAll or some silicone based oil. Do not use Vaseline or mineral oil as these will break down the rubber very quickly.
